Human exercise

lately i've been exercising on my spring break, and so far it feels good. maybe its my hyperactive unmedicated body releasing whatever, but it's good. im alternating days between biking and running. the bike rides i can go far, because let's face it, biking is way easier than running. even when youre tired, youre still going somewhere while coasting. not so for running. but running feels like im really working everything besides my legs. anyway, all of this has been going on with one small twist: no socks.

now i know that doesnt make a huge difference, but it so far it feels so much better. i spray the hell out of my feet with odor spray and i tie my shoes tight and hit the road. it feels great. something tells me i might be doing long term damage instead, but who knows. we evolved this way right? can't be that bad. now i wish i had the ability to go that next step and simply work out barefoot. that would be great. but that would wreck havoc on my feet and probably the bones and stuff. but id still be willing to man up and try it.

so far though, it feels good.

  1. i must commend you on running again. as the obsessed running person, i think you running again is cool.

because i love running (not nearly as much as i did in high school) i have to say that i have read up on the science of running barefoot. the new research shows that running barefoot is just as effective as running with shoes/spikes/flats on as far as effects on your bones. As far as the flesh, your feet are subject to glass and sharp/cutting surfaces if you don't wear shoes. Seriously though barefoot running is like the new coolest thing in runnning. It is like the fixe of running, and i mean that in all seriousness. Funny analogy, but completely true.

have fun running. BTW i only run 3-5 miles a day, so i am no overachiever anymore.
